Florence, Day 14

Yesterday afternoon we went to Galleria dell’Accademia I didn’t take any photos earlier in the day because I assumed, wrongly, that I would be able to take non-flash photos at the gallery. I’m not a huge art person, especially when it comes to religious paintings.. there’s only so many pictures I can look at of crucifixions and the like. My favorite part, aside from David, was defnitely the room with all the sculptures and plaster busts.

Before leaving, I captured a few adorable picture of Julia getting bundled up for the outing. Just as with the rest of Europe, it is darn cold here.

I can’t get enough of the left photo. Is that not THE cutest thing ever? Also, we joke that Julia looks a bit like Randy from A Christmas Story.

EEeeee! I just love my new boots.

A couple more photos of the Duomo. The magnitude of this thing is just unreal and pictures can’t even come close to doing it justice. I’ll be renting a wide angle lens soon to capture some better photos of the entire thing, but for now my 50mm is the widest I have.

Last, but not least, is a short clip of the goofball being silly in the middle of dell’Accademia. It is a good thing we were pretty much the only ones there. ;)

Hi Katelyn – This is Susie’s friend Emily, we met briefly the weekend in October when we all got the stomach plague (may it never be mentioned again.) I love your blog! It’s wonderful, and you’re a great photographer. Say hi to Suz & Andy, and keep the photos of Jules coming! :-) Thanks!
