I had the enormous pleasure of playing with “big boy” Brayden today. His was my second session of the day. We rode the carousel, went to the candy store,  and played superheroes. I worked up a sweat and had a blast! His grandma (Hi “Monna”!!) was a real treat. She had the whole back of her mini van loaded with clothes, shoes, props, and emergency rations ;) not to mention the cutest ideas. Not only that, but she took me to dinner afterwards! We had amazing shrimp, live acoustic music, great company and perfect weather.

“Monna”, I know you are waiting for the real pictures– but I just had to post these. I had a wonderful time tonight. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I woke super early before work yesterday to make banana-nut muffins. Boy, was it worth it.

vegan cooking with Lowrie

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

My girl, Lowrie, doesn’t eat meat, or eggs, or dairy, or any other product that comes from or is processed with animal parts. I love her for it. I haven’t had a dish that Lowrie has made that I have not liked and often we do cooking nights together. Last night, we decided to try Lola’s spring crepe recipe. We made all three  (asparagus hollandaise, wild mushroom and wilted frisee, and raspberry). It was an icky-cloudy night so I wasn’t able to photograph the end product like I normally love to do, but I managed to get a few fun shots.
