sneak peek | shelbye
Tuesday, August 25th, 2009nate | a very special delivery
Saturday, August 22nd, 2009You might remember Ashley from when I did her maternity pictures-the first time. Ashley had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby Nate as well as her husband from Iraq. Thank goodness that Brian beat Nate home. The day he arrived home, I hopped across town to take a few snapshots of the two of them before baby came!

.

Ashley was having contractions during our mini shoot-Brian had arrived just in time! Nate was born just a couple of days later!

Sleep, baby, sleep!

It was really important to me to get pictures of Brian and Nate together, as he leaves to return to Iraq today.

Can’t forget mommy!

One little, happy family

Brian held the umbrella over us while I shot these next two pictures of Nate and soothed him with his finger after we dropped the pacifier! Who knows what the neighbors thought of us.. Cute!

jenelle | maternity shoot
Friday, August 21st, 2009Once again, Facebook has connected me to new clients. I briefly met Jenelle at the Inaugural First Coast Worksite Wellness Conference where I was the photographer for the event. Later, Jenelle saw pictures I had done of Lowrie through Facebook-and voila!
Jenelle and Steve braved the (HUGE) bugs and soaked ground to do their shoot in this “field” off the highway. It was a little creepy back there- not gonna lie. THANK YOU for being such good sports!

Scary abandoned houses make for beautiful backdrops.

The ground? Practically a swamp- FEEL the love!

oohhh!! Two of my favorites!

Then we almost got rained out! On the way downtown for our second session, it poured and poured. So hard, we could barely see and cars were driving with hazards on. I called Jenelle to see what we should do and we decided to press on to see if we could ride out the storm.
Boy am I glad we we did. It hadn’t even rained at the location I had in mind.

.

Two more faves!

And then the rain came.
Whoever thought to call Florida-”The Sunshine State”? It rains ALL the time.
casting call | children
Friday, August 14th, 2009I need to update my website with all of my recent shoots-and its on my to-do list before I go back to work. Within the last couple of months my portfolio has grown 10-fold with weddings, pregnant mommies, and their fresh-out-of-the-oven babies. One area that I’d really like to beef up is my “kids” section.
I am giving away one free session session for a child between the ages of 5 and 10. This will cover one child only, 2 hours of shooting time and 10 free 5×7 prints.
Send a current picture of the child you are nominating and include his or her age, interests, and hobbies or talents.
sneak peek | forest blvd. wedding
Friday, August 14th, 2009I know this isn’t a shot from the actual wedding or of the people actually in it- but I just love detail shots. At times, I feel like they help tell the story better than the “big picture” shots.
These two handkerchiefs belonged to Bianca’s grandmother and great-grandmother-they used these same kerchiefs at their own weddings.

Monday, August 10th, 2009A 3 week old is a little past my normal “rule” of 2 weeks for newborns- but tempt me with ruby red lips, creamy baby skin and a head full of hair and I just can’t resist!!
Emma was not a sleepy baby- at all! (I’ve had a recent bunch of wide awake babes!) But we managed to get lots of adorable sleeping shots!

AHHH, bliss!
