Part way up the trail and looking East from an overlook- Horsetooth Reservoir and Fort Collins in the distance.

Some crazy hair a top Horsetooth Rock- windy as heck that day! The picture to the right is the view looking West from the summit.

maroon bells

Laura and I left Olathe/Montrose in the dark to get to Maroon Bells before the shuttle cut off time- this way we could drive in and beat the crowds. It was worth it! These are some film shots I took during our hike.

The light dancing across the water looked like millions of little diamonds. The film picture doesn’t do it justice but I think you can imagine it based on this shot.

Sometime it pays to turn around and look BEHIND you! What a breathtaking view of Maroon Bells Lake

I search most of the trip to find this perfect grove of aspens for the picture I had in my head.

Joe bought me a Golden Half double shot camera for Winter Solstice. What could be better than an adorable little camera that you can carry in your pocket? Why, an adorable little camera that fits in your pocket and also gives to a 2-for-1 deal with your film. Seeing as one (24- exposure) roll takes 48 pictures, it took me awhile to fill it up. It, apparently, also took quite a bit of practice for me to get used to the fixed camera settings. More than half the roll turned out black (hello, f11/100) but I did get a few gems. I love the retro look of the first two sets. Ouray is such a picturesque little mountain village.

The town has its own mini ski hill- complete with a rope tow.

Notice how you can barely see the sun through the clouds and snow? It has been like that a lot these days and it is quite maddening. While fresh snow in the winter is certainly lovely for a time- I am ready for spring.

In December, I purchased the Fujifilm Instax Mini 7s. I have been using it to capture special moments in my personal life and am absolutely in love with the pictures it produces. I usually always have it in my camera bag, but have never pulled it out for a session until Sunday. The pictures couldn’t have fit with the theme of Ezra’s shoot any better.
